12. Save image
To save an image, click on the menu File - Save to.
You can save to the file, clipboard, save your image as work in progress or send it via e-mail.
Save image to file
To save an image to file, select File.
Select the file format you like. Generally speaking, JPEG or JPG files provide the best
ratio between quality and file size. TIFF and BMP files are high quality also, but very
big. For the Internet JPEG files are preferred. They can be viewed in a standard browser
and provide acceptable quality while keeping download time low. Try around to find the
best settings for you.
GIF files are even smaller and can be viewed in a browser window as well, but they can
only save 256 colors (JPEG can go up to 32BIT True color). GIF files are ideal for use as
navigational elements (buttons) in a website.
Save image to clipboard
To save an image to the clipboard, select Clipboard. You can then paste the image into a document in another application, e.g your word processor or presentation software.
Save work to file
To save an image as a work in progres, select Work. The image will be saved with all the layers preserved. This allows you to continue to work on your image. If you save it as a regular file, all layers will be melded into one image. If you open a standard graphic file, you start with just one layer again. If you save it as work, the individual parts you are adding together and creating will stay intact.
Send image by E-mail
To send an image by E-mail, select E-mail. A standard mail program installed on your computer will be used for sending a mail. An image will be sent as an attachment.
